Terms of Use

These Terms of Use ("Terms") form a legal agreement between you and Betterbase Studio, LLC ("Betterbase Studio," "we," "us," or "our") governing your use of the Font Maker application for iOS and iPadOS, its extensions, and related services.

1. Acceptance of these Terms

By downloading, installing, accessing, purchasing through, or using Font Maker, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use Font Maker. If you use Font Maker on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

2. Eligibility

You must be legally capable of entering into this agreement. If you are under the age of legal majority where you live, a parent or legal guardian must review and accept these Terms and supervise your use of Font Maker.

3. Apple acknowledgment

These Terms are between you and Betterbase Studio, not Apple Inc. ("Apple"). Betterbase Studio, not Apple, is solely responsible for Font Maker and its content, subject to the provisions below. Apple's App Store and Apple Media Services Terms also apply to your download, purchases, subscriptions, and use of Apple services.

4. License to use Font Maker

Subject to these Terms, Betterbase Studio grants you a limited, personal, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and non-sublicensable license to install and use Font Maker on Apple-branded products that you own or control, as permitted by the Apple Media Services Usage Rules. Font Maker may also be accessed by accounts associated with you through Family Sharing or volume purchasing where Apple permits it.

You may not:

• copy, sell, rent, sublicense, distribute, or commercially exploit the app itself;
• reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, bypass, or attempt to extract source code, except where applicable law expressly permits it;
• circumvent premium access controls, usage limits, or security mechanisms;
• interfere with the app, backend, extensions, or another user's access; or
• use Font Maker in a way that violates law or another person's rights.

5. Your handwriting, fonts, and other content

As between you and Betterbase Studio, you retain the rights you hold in your handwriting, character drawings, font names, design text, support messages, and other content you create or submit through Font Maker ("User Content"). You are responsible for User Content and must have all permissions necessary to create, upload, generate, export, install, copy, share, or otherwise use it.

You grant Betterbase Studio and its service providers a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive license to host, transmit, reproduce, transform, and process User Content only as reasonably necessary to provide requested features, including font generation, downloads, font profiles, sharing, support, security, and service maintenance. This license ends when the relevant content is deleted from our systems, subject to reasonable backup, security, legal, and technical retention.

6. Responsible content and use

You must not use Font Maker to create, upload, install, or share content that:

• infringes copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity, or other rights;
• is unlawful, fraudulent, threatening, harassing, or malicious;
• contains malware or is intended to compromise a device or service;
• impersonates another person or misrepresents its source; or
• uses another person's handwriting or a protected typeface without authorization.

We may restrict or remove access to content or features when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect users, maintain security, or enforce these Terms.

7. Font generation and installation

Font generation requires an Internet connection and sends selected character images and related technical information to our backend for processing. Generated fonts may not reproduce every character or render identically in every application, device, language, export format, or operating-system version.

Font Maker may provide font files, download links, or Apple configuration-profile links to help you install generated fonts. You are responsible for reviewing installation prompts and deciding whether to install, trust, keep, or remove a font or profile. Apple controls profile installation and system font availability.

8. Keyboard, clipboard, widgets, and sharing

The Font Maker keyboard renders text with locally stored fonts and copies the result as an image to the Apple clipboard when you request it. You control what you type, copy, paste, and share. Apple and receiving apps control whether they accept, retain, synchronize, or further process clipboard or shared content.

Home Screen widgets depend on iOS, iPadOS, WidgetKit, App Group storage, and device settings. Share-sheet destinations, AirDrop, Messages, Mail, Files, Photos, and third-party apps are outside our control and governed by their own terms.

9. Free and premium features

Font Maker may offer free features, auto-renewing subscriptions, introductory or promotional offers, and one-time premium purchases. The available plans, billing period, localized price, currency, trial terms, and included features are shown in the app before you confirm a purchase. Features and limits may vary by plan, region, app version, remote configuration, or promotional offer.

10. App Store purchases and subscriptions

• Purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store and are also subject to the terms, payment methods, and policies associated with your Apple Account.
• Auto-renewing subscriptions continue and are charged through Apple unless canceled before renewal. You can manage or cancel a subscription in your Apple Account subscription settings. Deleting Font Maker does not cancel a subscription.
• A canceled subscription generally remains available through the end of the paid billing period unless Apple states otherwise. Billing retry, grace periods, upgrades, downgrades, and price changes are administered by Apple.
• Trials and introductory offers convert to the disclosed paid subscription unless canceled in accordance with the terms displayed by Apple at purchase.
• Refund requests are handled by Apple under App Store policies and applicable law. Betterbase Studio cannot issue or guarantee refunds controlled by Apple.
• Restore Purchases uses Apple and RevenueCat records to verify eligible purchases associated with the applicable Apple Account and requires an Internet connection.

11. Lifetime purchases

If a one-time "Lifetime" purchase is offered, it grants access to the premium features identified at purchase for the supported lifetime of Font Maker under your applicable Apple Account. "Lifetime" does not mean your natural lifetime and does not guarantee that every feature, device, platform, extension, or online service will be available forever. We may modify or discontinue features for legal, security, technical, or business reasons, subject to applicable consumer law.

12. RevenueCat and purchase verification

Font Maker uses RevenueCat to present offerings, process purchase results, verify premium entitlements, and restore purchases. RevenueCat does not replace Apple's role as the payment processor. Access to premium features may depend on successful communication with Apple and RevenueCat and on the current status of the applicable entitlement.

13. Updates and compatibility

We may update Font Maker to add, change, or remove features; fix errors; improve security; or maintain compatibility. Continued use may require installing an update. We do not promise support for every Apple device, operating-system version, keyboard host, widget configuration, font format variation, profile behavior, or third-party app.

14. Third-party services

Font Maker relies on services such as Apple and the App Store, RevenueCat, Firebase, Mixpanel, Sentry, hosting and backend providers, and apps you choose for sharing. Third-party services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies. Betterbase Studio is not responsible for third-party services or content outside our control.

15. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy for iOS describes how information is handled when you use Font Maker and is incorporated into these Terms.

16. Ownership

Font Maker, including its software, design, branding, documentation, extensions, and all related intellectual-property rights other than User Content, belongs to Betterbase Studio or its licensors. These Terms do not transfer ownership or grant rights to use our trademarks, logos, or branding except as necessary to use the app normally.

17. Maintenance, support, and product claims

Betterbase Studio, not Apple, is responsible for providing any maintenance and support for Font Maker that applicable law requires or that we separately promise. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support services for Font Maker. Betterbase Studio, not Apple, is responsible for addressing claims relating to Font Maker or your possession or use of it, including product-liability, legal or regulatory compliance, and consumer-protection claims, except to the extent another allocation is required by law.

18. Intellectual-property claims

If a third party claims that Font Maker or your possession and use of Font Maker infringes its intellectual-property rights, Betterbase Studio, not Apple, will be responsible for the investigation, defense, settlement, and discharge of that claim to the extent required by these Terms and applicable law. This does not cover claims caused by your User Content or unauthorized use.

19. Legal compliance and third-party terms

You represent that you are not located in a country or region subject to a United States government embargo or designated as supporting terrorism, and that you are not listed on a United States government restricted-party list. You must comply with applicable third-party terms when using Font Maker, including wireless-data, Apple Media Services, App Store, clipboard, sharing, and destination-app terms.

20. Suspension and termination

You may stop using Font Maker at any time. We may suspend or terminate access to the app or related online services if you materially violate these Terms, create a security or legal risk, misuse the service, or if continued service is no longer reasonably practicable. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination, including ownership, payment obligations, disclaimers, and liability limitations, will survive.

21. Disclaimers and Apple warranty terms

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, FONT MAKER IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE." BETTERBASE STUDIO DISCLAIMS IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND QUIET ENJOYMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, SECURE, OR COMPATIBLE WITH EVERY DEVICE OR THIRD-PARTY APP, OR THAT GENERATED FONTS WILL MEET EVERY PROFESSIONAL, TECHNICAL, OR COMMERCIAL REQUIREMENT.

If Font Maker fails to conform to an applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple may refund the purchase price paid for Font Maker, if any, as required by Apple's terms and applicable law. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to Font Maker. Betterbase Studio remains responsible for other claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, or expenses attributable to a failure to conform to an applicable warranty.

22. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, BETTERBASE STUDIO AND ITS AFFILIATES, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AND SERVICE PROVIDERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, OR BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES ARISING FROM FONT MAKER.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF FONT MAKER WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR FONT MAKER DURING THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM OR USD 50. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions or limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

23. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Courts located in Delaware will have jurisdiction over disputes that are not required to be resolved elsewhere by applicable law. This section does not deprive you of mandatory consumer protections or rights available in your country or region.

24. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms to reflect changes to Font Maker, our services, or legal requirements. We will post the revised Terms at this URL and update the effective date. If a material change requires additional notice or consent, we will provide it as required by law. Continued use after revised Terms take effect constitutes acceptance where permitted by law.

25. Apple as third-party beneficiary

Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms. When you accept these Terms, Apple has the right to enforce them against you as a third-party beneficiary, to the extent applicable to Apple.

26. General terms

If a provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our written consent. We may assign them in connection with a reorganization, merger, acquisition, or sale of assets. These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and Betterbase Studio regarding Font Maker.
